But the Life On Marbs star says she fell for the sportsman while dating his best friend.Danni, 32, told the Daily Star Sunday she knew she had feelings for the Sale Sharks fly-half even when she was in a relationship with his pal Dominic Waldouck.I feel terrible about it and don’t want to cause problems between them or hurt anyone but neither of us cheated.“Yes there’s been some messages and banter but nothing physical has ever happened between me and Danny.”Dom told Danni that he was moving to America last month. She said: “I was gutted but decided there was no point carrying on.“I’ll admit I knew I had feelings for Danny but nothing happened behind Dom or Kirsty’s back.”She and Cipriani struck up a friendship after she cheekily messaged the rugby player in December on Instagram to say she thought he was gorgeous.“Sadness will most likely be the overriding emotion, come the end of May.But I’m also hoping, mixed with the sadness, will be a lot of joy as the job isn’t finished yet.“I’m loving every moment with this squad and can never fault the support of the clubs loyal fans!! Let’s go one better this year.” He has already confirmed that talks have taken place with more than one club in France, with the likes of La Rochelle, Toulon, Toulouse and Clermont Auvergne considering their options at fly-half.You’ll get nothing but my absolute commitment from myself and the team for the rest of the season. It’s understood that there is interest in Cipriani from Japan too, although a move across The Channel is currently the more likely option.
Prior to Kirsty Gallacher, Danny Cipriani dated Jasmine Waltz, a 30-year-old American model during June 2010.
But she claimed nothing happened between them until they were single.
Speaking from her home in Marbella, Spain, Danni said: “The truth is I was dating Danny’s best mate Dom and I fell for Danny.“Dom’s not happy at all.
Danni said: “He messaged back and said he was flattered but wasn’t single and wondered if he could set me up with his friend. He was gorgeous and looked like Danny’s double – they are definitely my type.“We had a great time for a couple of months but then he said he was leaving.“I was a bit gutted so I texted Danny as a shoulder to cry on.“I told him it was over and he texted back and said he’d also split up with Kirsty.
It was pure coincidence.“We knew there was something there and he asked me to go to Manchester.” The pair met in the city but after their date they went their separate ways – with Danni heading back to a pal’s house.
The current Wasps director of rugby, Dai Young, brought Cipriani back to the club in 2016 after signing him from Premiership rivals Sale Sharks, and he hopes that the public announcement about his future will allow the stand-off to focus fully on his rugby for the remainder of the season, with Wasps looking to go one better than last year’s Premiership final appearance.
